source: vlany.org

Presented by the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts, the Art & Law Residency Program provides a unique opportunity to merge the concepts of Art and Law creating a platform for Artists and Writers to debate over and examine the relationships and disconnects that exist between the two.

During the 2011 residency program participants, including eight visual artists and four writers, have developed and will present their findings in the form of new art and critical writing during a Symposium taking place on August 24th.

As noted on vlany.org, ‘the writers in this year’s program will present papers investigating the role intellectual property plays in the construction and dissemination of images, and art as an alternative to traditional forms of justice and legal remedies.’

Wednesday August 24, 2011 6 – 9pm
